This has once again been demonstrated by both the hurricanes in the Caribbean and the severe storms in Germany. And extremes in climate such as prolonged drought are expected to occur more frequently in the future."

Checking in from a hot, humid & damp South East Qld, Australia. Corn is knee high, had to replant a few Bush Beans & Climbing Peas (seeds rotted due to the rain). Pumpkin, Potatos, Tomatos & Bush Zucchinis are going great. Got all year round Lettuce in, and trying to climatise Viking Spinach.

A couple of ultra early tomatoes I would never want to be without are Silvery Fir Tree and Tiny Tim- both will do well in lower light conditions and produce all season on small plants. Seed is generally available. Check out Painted Hills and Baby Blue ( Jade) super early OP sweet corns that even the dry kernels can be rehydrated for soups and stews . Both corns are very small stalks to 3 ft and ears are 4 to 6 in. They can be planted denser than most so you can get a fair amount in smaller plots for both fresh sweet and dry sweet for storage. Learning to save seed is a must. You can't grow cinnamon or cloves but they are a must for herbal mixes, winter teas etc so buy Ceylon cinnamon and whole cloves by the pound , they last for a long time and along with growing all kinds if Tyme and basils to dry are a wise investment

I have been making a huge batch of Super Tonic the last two days....I think I will have 3 to 4 gallons of this when I finish tomorrow. This is great for the immune system, and even tastes good over food. You use, onions, garlic, ginger, hot peppers, horseradish, and this time I added fresh turmeric, as well. You use raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar as the menstruum/solvent.
